Marija Bogdanovic

Marija Bogdanović is an expert in strategic planning and institutional capacities development in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development. For the past 15 years Marija developed her professional managerial experience in programs as part of international development cooperation and implemented for the German Government by GIZ GmbH.

 

Born in 1976 in Belgrade, she studied at the Faculty of Philology at Moscow State University Lomonosov. In Italy she obtained a diploma as a lecturer for Italian language and literature from the University of Sienna. Marija then earned her MBA at the Faculty for Finances, Economy and Business Administration at the University Singidunum Belgrade, and another MA in Management and Organizational Sciences at the Faculty of Organizational Science at the University of Belgrade.

 

Her career was focused on reform processes and the development of public administration and local governments in different priority fields for the Republic of Serbia’s EU Accession. Marija is very experienced in networking and establishing partnerships among relevant actors in the region of South East Europe, as well as in the process of acquiring knowledge and technology transfer between EU member states and Serbia. She furthermore launched the initiative to assess the benefits of the introduction of circular economy for Serbia. Besides being a gender focal person for GIZ Serbia, she is actively involved in economic strengthening of vulnerable groups.

 

Marija is fluent in German, Russian, Italian, English and moderate in Spanish and French, with academic specialization in Ancient Greek and Latin Languages. She also currently studies Japanese.
