Amir Jahangir

Jahangir is a thinker and an innovator. He is a leading strategic communication and media professional in the world. He was honored as the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum for his work on development initiatives to improve the state of media and governance.

He is the Founder & CEO of DBTV.live; Pakistan's first internet TV with an AI enabled newsroom. He leads Mishal Pakistan; a country partner institute of future of economic progress system initiative, World Economic Forum – managing the country portfolio on improving the state’s competitiveness. He advises leading institutions on public policy development.

As a co-Founder of Media Development and AGAHI (not for profits), his flagship development program; bringing press clubs, journalist’s associations and academia on a common platform, has empowered communities across the Pakistan. He has developed clusters of expertise around critical challenges confronting the region; engaging more than 35,000 professionals. Pakistan's first journalism awards, the AGAHI Awards for journalism excellence; Media Credibility Index, a content evaluation and delivery framework for assessing discourse. His ongoing focus on developing Governance Accountability Index, is in collaboration with senior academics and industry practitioners aimed at improving policy formulations at the State level.

He has served as Advisor to the Stanford Center of Innovation and Communication at Stanford University on Journalism and Media. The Festival of Media, Valencia ranked him among the top 10 media influencing personalities in the world.

Earlier he has worked as CEO for SAMAA TV as well. He was also the board member and CEO for CNBC Pakistan. At the age of 31, Jahangir was the youngest CEO for any CNBC franchise in the world.

Jahangir is an alumnus of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and the National Defense University, Islamabad on National and International Security. Jahangir is also been trained as a public policy professional from Harvard, Yale, MIT, Tufts and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy of the National University of Singapore.

Jahangir is a frequent speaker at the World Economic Forum, World Bank, Harvard, Stanford, BBC College of Journalism and other national and international research institutions.
